Anne Milne

Anne Milne has been a chef in Vancouver for 25 yrs. She’s held various dynamic positions as Executive/Corporate Chef in the restaurant, hotel and retail grocery arenas.

She has been Executive Chef for Café Splash, Capers, The Butchart Gardens and The Overwaitea Food Group, to name a few of her past positions.

Anne held the position of Executive Chef with Shangri La Hotel for 3 yrs in the early 90’s and during that time worked in Beijing and Xian, China.

Since 1993 Anne has been self employed. She now focuses her expertise on developing new food related concepts and products from the initial idea through to the launch stage. She is a specialist in the realm of Home Meal Replacement (HMR).

She designed and implemented the menu at Urban Fare, the first gourmet grocery store in Canada to boast a liquor license! Also with The Overwaitea Food Group she developed a successful Meals to Go Program for Save On Foods.

Anne is proud to have Thrifty Foods on Vancouver Island as a key client. She is constantly developing new private label food products for Thrifty’s Home Meal Replacement program.

HACCP trained, she works comfortably in the food manufacturing environment.

With a Bachelor of Education, she is well equipped for her teaching role. As a former high school English teacher, she has strong writing, training and communication skills. She is a certified instructor of FOODSAFE, Levels 1 and 2. Her specialty in this area is customizing the FOODSAFE program to reflect any company’s specific operational issues. She has recently completed a customized corporate FOODSAFE program for Joeys and for Araxi Restaurant in Whistler.

She is also an experienced food stylist and has worked with many local food photographers on published shoots.
