ABOUT ANNE MILNE
Anne Milne has been a well known chef in Vancouver’s food scene for many years. She’s held various dynamic positions as Corporate Chef in the restaurant, hotel and grocery arenas.
She’s been Executive Chef for Shangri La Hotels, Capers, The Butchart Gardens and The Overwaitea Food Group, to name a few of her past career posts.
Anne held the position of Executive Chef with the original Shangri La Hotel in Vancouver for 3 years and during that time worked in Beijing and Xian, China.
Anne has also been a part time instructor in the Culinary Arts Department with Vancouver Community College on several occasions.
She designed and implemented the menu at Urban Fare, the first gourmet grocery store in Canada to boast a liquor license! As corporate chef with The Overwaitea Food Group she developed a successful Meals to Go Program for Save On Foods. She recently held the position of Home Meal Replacement specialist with Thrifty Foods for 6 years.
Anne now focuses her expertise in three areas:
- Teaching FOODSAFE courses
- Developing new food related products
- Writing of Corporate Training Manuals for Standard Recipes and Food Safety Plan
As a former English teacher (Bachelor of Education) Anne is well equipped to instruct students of all ages and positions in the food service industry-from corporate managers to prep cooks.
HACCP trained, she works comfortably in the food manufacturing environment.
She is also an experienced food stylist and has worked with many local food photographers on published shoots.
